        The next picture shows a Butty tin / pay tin, these where used to collect your pay at the end of the week, you gave your number, which is on the top of the tin and your pay was handed back to you in the tin, this system ended in the 1940s in the yorkshire area and was replaced by pay packets. The tin in the picture originates from the Rossington colliery.
